Aloud. To my children. Though I can chuckle over them with other adults. Like this little book.
Such a sweet and innocent title followed by such an unfortunately chauvinistic assumption. Maybe the fact that my mother and aunt are both doctors and my sister is in medical school makes the "women can be nurses and men can be doctors" seem especially silly.
Other career alternatives available to men in this book include being a cowboy, an astronaut, a businessman, a lawyer, a professional.... Women can aspire to being a secretary, teacher, or a bride. Yes, a bride. Nothing wrong with being a secretary, teacher, bride, or nurse but I think the gendering is just a tad unrepresentative (at least in the case of our family, which lacks any nurses).
