dwelling #3: the twig teepee
The teepee is composed of numerous triangles and begins, in our case, with a basic tripod structure made of twigs. A strong twig with a fork is ideal for one or two of the main tripod pieces.
Teepee-making chatter offers opportunities to discuss triangle with munchkins who are learning basic shapes but haven't yet mastered three dimensional shapes. Vanilla knocked over our teepee twice, so we had the opportunity to learn what might make it stronger, or, in Max's words, "the structural defects".
Our final teepee was elected as a home for the cicada spirit who abandoned a former dwelling- his cicada shell. A dwelling inside a dwelling, it seems.
